Recommendable. But incredibly thin material. I purchased these for a 5 year old girl, who is 43 inch tall, 23 waist. Purchased a size 4 I think. She usually wears a 4T in bike shorts. The white shorts in the picture are a different brand 4T. She also Wears 5Slim in regular jean shorts or pants. The fabric is slightly lose at the legs, not quite like a bike short, but it still has good coverage for playing and wearing under a dress.
